Terms and ideas such as homeland, God, entrepreneurship, development and security need to be "rehabilitated", the New Democracy leader told writers and artists on Wednesday.
Antonis Samaras called on people from the arts to help restore the terms because, as he said, "the people believe in you more than they do in politicians and call on you to show solidarity".
Speaking at an event at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, Samaras pledged to introduce a national policy for culture and to merge the education, culture and sports ministries.
He also called for a large cultural park to be created in the area surrounding the National Archaeological Museum, a project that can be carried out with the help of sponsors.
