The parliamentary committee is crosscheking the details that MPs have entered on their source of wealth declarations. A parliamentary committee that checks MPs source of wealth declarations (pothen esches in Greek) has asked the financial crimes squad (SDOE) to provide further information about a former minister who is alleged to have 178 million euros in undeclared bank deposits. Quoting unnamed sources, Skai TV said the ex-minister, who served in a New Democracy government, did not declare the money to tax authorities either. The committee will also ask for more information about former Economy and Finance Minister Giorgos Alogoskoufis and ex-Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos after receiving details of the financial transactions of former ministers allegedly involved in the Siemens cash-for-contracts scandal. Sources close to Alogoskoufis said that his financial details have been fully declared and that the ex-minister has nothing to hide. source: http://www.ekathimerini.com/4dcgi/_w_articles_wsite1_1_31/03/2011_385418 «« Let's get back to the News Overview |
