The George Economou Collection - The Best from Greece

Following its move to Metaxourgeio, the Municipal Gallery of Athens is ready to welcome visitors with the premiere of the George Economou Collection. Encompassing wide-ranging movements and eras, the  comprehensive collection includes works legendary and obscure and is being shown in two parts.

A well-known businessman, George Economou is a passionate art collector and the importance of his acquisitions is clear through this extensive exhibition. This, the successor to the initial George Economou Collection exhibition which concluded in April, features Surrealist works, paintings from the School of Paris, a collection of nude portraits, displays of art from the 1960s and more.
