Customs and beliefs of centuries unfold through the authentic recipes and the past converges with the present.

Tastes and Traditions are presented and tasted, some of which date back to ancient times and which the present day inhabitants continue to maintain with vigour.

Participants will experience a tour of the cuisine and the traditions of Mykonos and get aquainted with its local products and at the same time find out from the women of the island themselves, all the cooking secrets handed down to them from generation to generation.

Recipes amongst others by Olga Markari: Petalides me Pilafi ( Limpets with Risotto)

I cup Limpets
I cup rice
3 cups water
1 onion, finely chopped
half cup olive oil
dill, finely chopped
salt & pepper
Blanch the limpets in a saucepan with water and remove the shells.
In another saucepan, place the onions, the dill, the shelled limpets and the olive oil.
Stir the ingredients a couple of times until the onion turns tender, yet not golden brown.
Add the water and when it reaches boiling point, add the rice.
Stir and cook until all the juices are absorbed.
Serve the risotto drizzled with lemon
