Stathas (Greek: Σταθάς), is a small mountain village of Greece. It is located in the north west part of Greece and belongs to Aetolia-Acarnania. The village was known as Dounista (Greek: Δούνιστα or Ντούνιστα) until the late 20th century. The village belongs to the Inachos municipal unit. Its population is estimated about 467 inhabitants for the municipal district and 168 for the main village. The altitude of the main village is 640 meters above sea level. The nearest major cities are Agrinion, Amfilochia and Arta.

The village's name "Stathas" was given after the famous rebel "armatolos" *Gerodimos Stathas, of Valtos. Other famous rebels, during the Turkish occupation of Greece, from the same village are:
