Description:
Vari (Greek: Βάρη) is a suburban town and former municipality in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, of which it is a municipal unit.

It lies at the southwestern end of the Mesogeia plain and the southeast shoulder of the Hymettus mountain, on the Saronic Gulf coast. Vari is locally known for its many taverns. A soccer field is situated in the southeast which is home to Aris FC and a military base is about 2 km north. The ancient demos of Anagyrous was situated here.

A road connects Vari with Koropi and Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, and Greek National Road 91 connects it with Athens and Sounio.

Properties were built in the 1980s and the 1990s and a road was over the stream before regulations against building properties and making streets over and 100 m within a stream to be disallowed.

Vari's beautiful beach is located in an area called Varkiza, a fish-village that joined the municipality of Vari, in 1997. This particular beach has won the blue flag many years in the past including 2009 as well.

After 1-1-2011 Vari joined Voula and Vouliagmeni, according to Kallikratis regulations, in a joined municipality. Grigoris Kasidokostas is the new mayor elected at 14 November 2010 for the new joined municipality.
