Tyros (Greek: Τυρός) is a tourist town and municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality South Kynouria, of which it is a municipal unit. At the 2001 census, the population of the municipal unit was 2116. The municipal unit Tyros consists of the communities Tyros, Pera Melana. It lies in the heart of Kynouria, between the Parnon mountains and the Myrtoan Sea. In the region of Tyros the Tsakonian language, that originates from the ancient Doric dialect, is spoken.
