Description:
Kapandriti (Greek: Modern: Καπανδρίτι, Ancient/Katharevousa: Kapandrition/Καπανδρίτιον) is a town near Marathon in the north of Attica in Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Oropos, of which it is a municipal unit.
Kapandriti is linked by road to Nea Makri, Afidnes, and Kalamos. Kapandriti is located north-east of Athens, east of GR-1/E75 (Athens - Lamia - Thessaloniki) and north of Rafina.
Businesses are the most popular industry in Kapandriti, agriculture dominates the outskirts and Mikrochori Kapandritis. Housing developments came in the 1990s but slowly boomed. Other larger settlements around Kapandriti include Mikrochori Kapandriti (pop. 372) and Ágioi Anárgyroi (239). Límni Marathónos formerly was inhabited but is now abandoned. Two monasteries lie north of Kapandriti.
