 Vehicle registration fees

All car and motorcycle owners should expect at least a 10 percent rise in their annual car registration fee – or 20 percent compared to 2010.

The fee depends on the size of the vehicle engine. Specifically, owners of cars with a 1,548cc engine will be required to pay 240 euros (up 20 euros compared to 2011), going up to 1,320 euros for (up 120 euros) for the owners of cars with engines of 4 litres and above.

Those who have brand new cars will only have to pay based on CO2 emissions. These fees are minimal, ranging from 0 to 3.40 euros.

The deadline to pay the fee is December 31. The late payment fee is based on the size of the vehicle’s engine.
