Culture and Tourism minister Pavlos Geroulanos is currently in London to promote tourism to Greece ahead of the upcoming start of the summer season, in a bid to reverse last season's downturn in tourism revenues.

On Monday, the first day of a two-day visit to Britain, a traditionally tourist large market for Greece, Geroulanos, accompanied by the new chief of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) George Koletsos, had a series of meetings with tour operators, representatives of internet travel promotion hubs, and media, while he also gave interviews to CNN and the Guardian newspaper on the current political situation in Greece and the changes being made to the tourism landscape through new tourist products

He also met with the on-line booking web network Trip Advisor's senior director for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, the publisher and director of Monocle magazine and the development chief of Expedia, as well as the publisher of Conde Nast Traveler in Britain.

On Tuesday, Geroulanos is slated to continue his contacts with the mass media and tour operators. (ANA)
