About 500,000 Greeks were living in households that had no income at all because all its members were unemployed, according to figures from the Bank of Greece (BoG).

This accounts for 12.9 percent of the labor force, up from 9.8 percent said the central bank.

Statistics also show that gross incomes have dropped by 6.3 percent this year compared to 9.1 percent in 2010.

The figures were included in the bank’s interim monetary policy report, delivered to Parliament on Wednesday.

BoG criticized the previous government for failing to meet the targets it had agreed with the eurozone and the International Monetary Fund and recommended a change in the growth model for the faster recovery of the economyand lightening the tax and social security burdens on enterprises to create more flexibility and more jobs in the labor market.
