Deputy minister's office targeted in gas-canister attack - The Best from Greece

A small gas-canister bomb exploded outside the office of deputy foreign minister Mariliza Xenoyiannakopoulou, causing minor damage and no injuries.

 

The blast at the entrance of the Solonos Street office in central Athens occurred late on Monday night – following a months-long lull in attacks by anarchist groups.

 

Xenoyiannakopoulou retained her position in the coalition government formed last week. (Athens News/gw)
