Unidentified individuals targeted the Saint George monk cell in the Holy Monastery of Megisti Lavra in the monastic community of Mount Athos in Halkidiki, north Greece, police on Monday said.

The robbers broke into the monastery and made off with two icons and offerings of the faithful worth roughly 3,000 euros
