President Karolos Papoulias inaugurated the 40th Book Festival at the Zappion Mansion on Sunday night. The Book Festival has been operating for 30 years and is dedicated to the European Year of Volunteerism, while it is being organised by the Federation of Book Publishers, together with the Athens Municipality's Cultural Organisation.
The 40th Book Festival will last until September 18 and about 150 publishers are participating in 120 pavilions with over 50,000 titles and the entire modern-day publishing production. (AMNA)
