SPECIALIZED SINCE MANY YEARS

in the construction of semi trailer refrigerated vans, specially made for the transportation of food and other perishable goods, as well as of heavy duty trailers for general cargo, tippers, low bed trailers, water, fuel, wheat, cement, bitumen and asphalt tankers, flat bed trailers, car transporters, armoured cars, military tank transporters, shelters, etc. Besides the above mentioned, railway wagons are being produced in compliance with International Standard Regulations. Moreover, any other special requirement in the field of road transportation can be fulfilled.

THE PREMISES AND MANUFACTURING

facilities consist of an industrial site of more than 56.000 m2 with about 28.500 m2 covered by modern industrial buildings, which are located at the Industrial Area of the sea port town of Volos, in the center of Greece, with separate administrative offices & registered office and show-room situated in Athens at the 17 km Athens-Thessaloniki (Deiradon & Morinthou 47) road and 22 km Athens-Lamia National Road, respectively. Our factory is considered to be one of the largest and most modern industrial complexes of its kind in Europe and disposes of modern production equipment as well as of fully trained & skilled personnel, of more than 250 persons.

This is due to their longevity and strength, resulting from the care and responsibility put in our production, which combined with our long experience, give to our products a spotless appearance and a perfect behavior, even under abnormal road conditions, which are very common on the roads of Middle East and North African countries.

THE ACTUALLY INVOLVED CAPITAL AMOUNTS

to € 60.000.000 approx. and the annual production capacity, on a single shift, is 2.000 units, the major part of which, is distributed all over Hellas, while a substantial part is exported.

THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE HELLENIC ARMY

for tank-transporters and for various shelters and special truck bodies, guided the designers of NIK KIOLEIDES SA to present and produce suitable corresponding constructions and the Hellenic Armed Forces to allocate corresponding orders. Furthermore our cooperation with well known foreign defence industries, suppliers of the Hellenic Army resulted in joint ventures and in the implementation of other offset benefit projects.

NIK KIOLEIDES SA has a full line of products that serve the cement and construction industry and are specially designed to meet the strict specifications required especially for these products. Our company has a line of aluminum bulk cement tanker semi trailers with a capacity of 32 m3 , on a three axle chassis, with various types of suspension systems icoporating the latest technological sollutions.

In addition, our company has a wide range of tippers (both tipper semi trailers and truck mounted types) ranging from a capacity of 10 m3 up to 60 m3 or more, depending on the needs and specifications of the client.

Furthermore, NIK KIOLEIDES SA has in its disposal a complete range of asphalt and bitumen tanks and semi trailer tanks as well as fuel and other liquids tankers (on truck, trailer and semi trailer types).

During 1995 - 2000 our company in collaboration with NK TRAILERS SA fabricated more than four thousand (4.000) fully equipped container houses (20 m2, 25m2 and 32 m2). Similar constructions are widely used as temporary offices in construction yards, as houses for earthquake victims, etc.

Furthermore, we are suppliers of the Hellenic Armed Forces in tank transporting semi - trailers, special versions of various truck superstructures as radar rooms, shelters and field operation armored trailers etc of various usage.

Last but not least, our company designed and developed in collaboration with foreign manufacturers modern versions of fuel-tank-wagons, car-transporter-wagons and high-speed passenger wagons which were ordered by OSE and presently are operating with huge success.

The high technical experience and special training of the company's personnel is reflected mainly upon the quality of its products. This quality is assured and certified both by the applied quality control system and by the trouble free perfomance of its products in everyday use. Our products have established a profound reputation of robustness and reliability for which we are extremely proud.

It is no accident that the refrigerated vans we are producing according to the international standards and specifications, are accompanied by International certificates as per ATP, while our TIR General Cargo Swap bodies have been homologated by CEMAT (Italian Specifications Organization).

In general, the quality certification of our products is established according to ISO 9001 : 2000*, ISO 14001:2004 and ELOT 1801:2002. We are also complying according to AQAP-2110 which mainly concerns companies producing military equipment (NATO QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR INSPECTION). *(applies a management system for the following scope: Design, development and manufacturing of trailers, semi trailers, truck bodies, tanker vehicles, fire fighting vehicles, railway wagons, shelters, metal prefabricated houses "containers" and metal constructions.)

Prodution Premisses & Organization

The various productive machine tools have a total installed driving power of more than 1.200 HP and a thermal capacity of more than 2.100 KW.

They include at present, with a further program of modernization and expansion:

The plant is also equipped with 2 sand-blasting units, one of dimensions 31 x 6 x 6 m and one for automatic raw material sand-blasting, one complete paintshop installation with 2 ovens, 13 overhead cranes, automatic pantograph 5 x 13 m, 1 high tension trafo-station of 1650 KVA, one automatic welding machine 31 x 6 x 6 m on a crane with telecontrol, and one 50 t platform for the lateral movement of passenger wagons, as well as a big quantity of hand-tools, air-tools and electrical appliances.

It is worth mentioning that in Europe with THALES AIR DEFENCE, BOMBARDIER, e.t.c. as well as in the United States with GENERAL MOTORS, LOCKHEED MARTIN, AAR CADILLAC e.t.c. , a constructive cooperation has been established, allowing NIK KIOLEIDES SA to remain close to all major technological developments and advancements and thus better serve the industry.

During 1996 - 1997 in collaboration with its sister company NK TRAILERS SA, KIOLEIDES GROUP of companies, organized and implemented the disassembly of an automobile assembly plant in Volos-Hellas (TEOCAR) and its transfer and reinstallation in Kaliningrad - Russia (AVTOTOR - KIA BALTICA).

Lastly, we have to mention as our very important customers the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Railways who, by their orders, not only gave us long-term employment but also acknowledged the high quality and capacity of our production.

Military

NIK KIOLEIDES S.A., the well known first and biggest manufacturer of trailers and truck bodies in Hellas, is also playing, since 1986, an important role among the Hellenic Defence Industry.

NK's first step into the defence sector was realized in 1986, when the first Hellenic low bed tank transporting semi-trailer, suitable for armored tanks of a weight up to 60 tons, was designed and manufactured by NIK KIOLEIDES SA and delivered to the Hellenic Army. This first sample is still fully utilized by the Hellenic Armed Forces.

Another tank transporting semi-trailer with a 35 tons payload was designed by NK in 1990 and subsequently produced and delivered in large quantities to the Hellenic Ordnance and other units.

The latest demands for tank transporters, suitable for longer, heavier tanks, motivated NIK KIOLEIDES S.A. to design and present at DEFENDORY' 96 exhibition a tank transporting semi-trailer of a 58 tons payload one meter longer than the first one. This resulted to a large order of the Hellenic Army to NIK KIOLEIDES S.A.

A revolutionary new design of a 76 tonn payload tank transporter was prepared by NIK KIOLEIDES S.A. and the respective prototype was displayed at the DEFENDORY '98 + '00 exhibition. Following the approval of the prototype, a contract with the Hellenic Army was signed on April 2000.

Parallel to the heavy semi-trailer other smaller military trailers, semi-trailers and platforms suitable for the transport of missiles or of shelters or also of water or fuel tanks stay within NIK KIOLEIDES S.A. program and have been delivered to the Hellenic Army. These special vehicles are offered not only to the Hellenic Armed Forces by also to other neighbor countries.

Military shelters of various dimensions and configurations have been made for the Hellenic Army, Navy and Air Force, according to special requirements and all were able to withstand the corresponding quality assurance tests and inspections making them a big success.

Last but not least, our company during the year 2009 is awarded and is implementing a very important contract by the U.S. Army, Department of Defense for the construction & procurement of 510 fuel tankers semi-trailers.
