ELASTRON's key activities include the processing and reselling of steel products. The Company imports, processes and resells flat and long steel products. Its state-of-the-art facilities guarantee that production is always made with reliability, effectiveness and unfailing quality. Facilities

The company owns grounds and buildings in the following areas:

Offices, industrial plants and warehouses in Aspropyrgos of Attica, in Agios Ioannis, within the industrial zone at the back of the Halyvourgiki Distilleries. These premises are constructed on a lot with an area of 75 hectares and include 30.000m2 of covered space. Also, the Company owns a piece of land of over 20 hectares opposite its premises in Aspropyrgos.

A complex of industrial plants and warehouses at 1, Palasca Street, in Skaramangas within the town planning area.

These premises have been constructed on land with an area of 15,700 m2 and include buildings with a surface area of approximately 8,500 m2.

ELASTRON has an exceptionally wide range of products which includes over 300 codes. Its vast experience guarantees both the quality of its products and the effective satisfaction of its customers' needs. The broad range of products and the ability to perform further processing secure unlimited possibilities in meeting all demands.

COLD FORMED SECTIONS - Introduction

The cold form sections (Z, C, Σ, Zplus) are used as secondary steel frame structure of metal construction, decreasing its weight up to 50%, compared to the ordinary hot rolled steel sections (H-Beams, e.g. IPE, IPN etc).

The combination of the particular geometrical characteristics and the high resistance of steel (S 320) that cold formed sections hold, has as a result increased resistance in relation to their weight.

For each type of cold form section the topology of bolting holes can be provided so that it is delivered ready for erection, according to the designer's drawings. Having the advantage of customization, cold form sections can be manufactured according to customer's specifications (type, length, holes). Accessories are also available, necessary for the installation of the cold formed sections on the base metal frame (e.g. connection sleeves).

CLADDING STEEL PROFILES

For the formation of coverings in metal structures, corrugated steel sheet profiles are preferably used especially those of trapezoidal form.

The choice of suitable profile is based on the right combination of two main factors: the mechanical properties of the used sheet which determine its resistance in various loads, as well as its geometrical form which lends the desirable aesthetic but also functional characteristics (e.g. draining rain water).
The industrialized manner of production of gladding steel profiles, provides high qualitative attributes. High quality galvanized steel sheet goes through production line of continuous process, so that biggest resistance is provided, as well as anticorrosive protection.
The state-of-the-art production lines satisfy even the highest quality criteria, using coils of galvanized sheet of various thickness (from 0.3 to 1.25 mm) and exceptionally high quality.

ECOTILE

The vast variety of building covering products is now intergrated with the new ECOTILE series. It consists of profiles for wide openings which present a high quality finishing and also an attractive design. The overall result is a look identical to the classic tiles. Because of its light weight per square meter, it may be safely placed even on an existing roof.

The product is designed to bear weather conditions such as: ice, rain, heat, storm, hail is 100% water proof due to its specially designed groove on every sheet's edge.
It can be placed easily and quickly.
It can be placed even on the vertical axis.
It reduces the load of a building's shell. It is ideal for roofs placed for waterproofing and insulation purposes on existing lofts.
It does not maintenance or cleaning, it prevents mold from being created and sheets are self cleaning.
Product presents extended lifetime because of the high quality polyester coating of the profile.
It may be delivered in standardized length with standard step distance of 350mm in GREEK RED color.
Finally, it may be delivered according to the customer's order in a special length and step distance and additionally in any RAL coloration the customer may wish.

METALDECK SCAFFOLDING

METALDECK SCAFFOLDING

The METALDECK is placed by the scaffolding in order to bridge (span) its frames and create a horizontal level (work area platform). During placement on the side of the scaffolding frame, each METALDECK must be "secured" at the bottom with a specific security pin in order to ensure the safe palcement and to avoid its involuntary elevetion.

In order to create the work area platform, one or more METALDECK can be used accordingly to the frame width. The metal planks are placed side by side along their longitudinal side and special attention must be paid not to create gaps bigger than 25 mm.

At no occation, should there be used a METALDECK of smaller or bigger length than the length of the scaffold pylon. In any case METALDECK's hooks must be clasped on either side of the scaffold's metal frames.

The placement of the successive along the METALDECK's length must be done in such a way that ensures the continuation of the platform work area with the overlapping of the special design hooks. Moreover, the hooks must clasp to the tubular scaffold frame of the metal plank.

FOOTSTOPPER

The Footstopper is placed vertically to the work platform area, along and across the scaffolding at its edge in order to bridge two tubular elements of the scaffold frame, on the base of the work area platform.

The upper end of the metal protective bar (Footstopper) must be 200 mm over the platform's work area surface. In no case the Footstopper can be used as metal plank or work area platform. This product is designed solely to ensure the greatest safety of the workers against their fall or their dropping of objects.

Milestones in our History

2008

Renaming of the company to ELASTRON STEEL SERVICE CENTERS SA, marking a new growth and expansion era of the Group's international activities.

Renaming of subsidiary company KALPINIS SIMOS RPM SRL in Romania to BALKAN IRON GROUP SLR following the joint-venture with the HELLENIC HALYVOURGIA SA and TRIGONIS BROS SA groups with an equal participation stake of each in the company.

Operation of the subsidiary company CORUS - KALPINIS - SIMOS STEEL SERVICE CENTER and its renaming in 2009 to TATA ELASTRON SA STEEL SERVICE CENTER, with the scope of activities being the process, distribution and resale of steel products in the broader region of the south-east Europe (50-50% joint-venture with TATA STEEL).

Completion of the 1st private placement through the sale of 10% of its shares to foreign institutional investors.

Establishment of the 100% subsidiary company KALPINIS SIMOS ROM SRL in Bucharest, Romania.

Transfer of the Company's headquarters from Piraeus to privately owned land in the industrial area of Aspropyrgos, Attica.

Establishment of the subsidiary company CORUS - KALPINIS - SIMOS COATING MATERIALS SA (50-50% joint-venture with BRITISH STEEL Plc). The primary scope of the company is the processin and reselling advanced structural steel material (panels).

BRITISH STEEL PLC along with KONINKLIJKE HOOGOVENS have built in 1999 the CORUS GROUP. In 2007, TATA GROUP bought CORUS GROUP but the name of the company remained the same. Only in 2010 it was renamed to TATA STEEL EUROPE.
