In the Greek Market, DANCO is one of the most established and widely spread names, as opposed to the general policy of the company, which remains mainly in undertones. The history of DANCO goes back to 1984 in New Orestiada, through the activity of today's President and Chief Executive, Mr Athanasios Bacharidis, in the representation and trading of dairy and delicatessen products. After a few years of dynamic course, the company ensured the representation of great names such as Friesland, Misco, Barila, Rodopi S.A., Kolios O.E., The Confederation of Thessaloniki, e.t.c. This important achievement is due to the fact that the company, having done a serious and responsible work, manage to create one of the most modern distribution networks.
During 1997 DANCO S.A. begins and completes a great investing program worth a billion drachmas for the processing and standardization of table olive and the standardization of dairy products. At the end of the same year the company gets its new up-to-date form, which includes plants of 2500m2 and a modern mechanical equipment, consisting of table olive processing line, a line for packing olives in cans, barrels and vacuum and another one for packing dairy products. The company also possesses freezing chambers of 1500m3 and modern storage space for the preservation and storage of the goods it produces and represents in excellent condition. The sensitization in environmental issues prompted the company to the construction of a biological cleaning system for the processing of waste. For 1998 the second investing plan worth 500 million drachmas is in progress, and it anticipates the creation of a processing and standardization unit of garden produce (pickles, peppers, cucumbers, e.t.c.)
