Nuts are available either as whole or chopped in various forms based on customers' or consumers' quality requirements.

Natural nuts are pre-cleaned from foreign bodies (stones, shells etc.) and then they can be chopped in slices, in cubes, in sticks (slivered) and in powder with the use of machines that have special knives. The mechanical equipment that we possess has got the possibility of chopping the nuts in a variety of sizes. Thus, we have the possibility of producing sliced nuts in various sizes, such as "thin", "medium thin" and "thick", with various thickness between 2mm to 10mm, slivered nuts of "medium" size and powder of "fine" quality.

All products, before the final packaging, from small packages (30gr) up to big ones (of 10 kilos), pass through metal detectors.

The final products are stored in refrigerators - in an environment of controlled temperature and humidity - up to the moment that they are loaded onto the trucks.

A large and important piece of the processes that takes place in our installations is the Blanching of Almond Kernels. Using steam we remove the skin of the almond kernel that can then be chopped as previously described. The use of White Almond Kernels is addressed mainly to the confectionary industry. In the ultramodern productive unit the mechanical equipment that we own is of the latest and more advanced technology. It has got its own stone removal machinery, laser machinery through which possible non-blanched nuts are removed, filters in order to remove the broken nuts and a metal detector before the packaging so that the purity of the products is ensured.

Processed nuts require particular care in order to properly maintain their taste.

In the factory raw materials, initially, are kept in refrigerators where the conditions of temperature and humidity are suitable so that they maintain their initial state up to the moment of their being processed. Then they are pre-cleaned using air, sieves and destoners from the foreign bodies and afterwards their roasting in the ovens follows. We can dry or oil roast controlling completely the slating nuts.

All processed nuts are packed immediately in PROTECTED ATMOSPHERE with nitrogen that is added using controlled methods and after they have passed through METAL DETECTORS in the final stage of their packing, they are stored in controlled conditions until they are disposed to our customers.

With the help of modern equipment and processing systems that we have applied, each production is for us a lot, for which we have the complete elements of raw materials and all the parameters of productive processes (time and temperature of roasting, humidity of products etc.) from which it has passed. Therefore, through the process of trace ability, which conforms with our customers' requirements, but also with the Community Regulations, we can track down very fast and with precision the lots of nuts in market and the customers that they have been allocated to.

Caramelized nuts are prepared in a TRADITIONAL way. They are coated with sugar syrup in traditional coating machineries, which are however manufactured from approved materials for their use in the processing of foods. Caramelized nuts are coated not only with sesame, but also with coconut meal presenting a variety of flavours.

Snacks
Beyond the traditional forms of nuts, CARDICO has at its disposal a wide range of coated nuts in various flavours. These products are processed and packed in the ultramodern installations of the company and are addressed not only to the traditional consumers but also to those that seek original and tasty combinations. Differentiations that are simple in their conception but perfect for their new gastronomical delights, e.g. pepper at the salted yellow chick piece (and a beer).

Cereals
A new productive activity with particular technological interest is the production of flakes, grains and muesli that comes from grounded/milled cereals. The cereals that are mainly used are the corn, the rice, the wheat, the oat and the rye. They can be coated with chocolate or honey or even with other new flavours. They can be mixed with nuts and fruits and thus new original flavours for breakfast and for snack can be created.

We make sure that the quality of the raw materials is exceptional, in order that the goods that are produced are of unique nutritious value.

Breakfast cereals are available in packaging from 375gr up to 8 kilos in bulk to retail customers, wholesalers, hotel enterprises, catering companies etc.
