Make it real, in the crystal clear waters of Naxos Island!

“Bluefindivers” was established at Naxos Island (Cyclades, Greece) by the professional diver Mr. Panagiotis Niflis on 2006 simultaneously with the lifting of free diving legal prohibition.
The whole Aegean Sea region between Naxos and Paros islands constitutes an exceptionally destination for diving and exploring underwater world with picturesque environment, crystal waters and magical locations.
Stories that started as a “myth” and several information from local fishermen were gathered, “investigated” and confirmed by “Bluefindivers”.

We can provide a special underwater tour to special spots for unforgettable plunges such as:

* The “Broken Ship”, the wreck of cargo ship “Marianna” which sunk in 1982 at the duration of a severe storm.
* The “Wooden Seaplane”, the remains of a World War I aircraft Arado.
* The “Lost Beaufighter”, a British bomber aircraft which sunk during World Word II.
* The “Mermaids Cave”, an ancient concealed and underground cavern at Padieronissi islet.
* A variety of magical reef dives.

We keep exploring new “hidden places” in order to provide you with more and more diving spots.
Our technical equipment consists of:

* A 9 meter polyesteric boat with 320HP Mercruiser engine, which can transfer safely and comfortably up to 12 divers.
* A latest technology “Paramina”(13,000 lt per hour) compressor.
* Oceanic and Tiquillio equipment (bought on 2006) excellently maintained.

All our services and equipment are approved by the BVQI.

Virgin Reef

A site that divers who visit Naxos enjoy diving a lot. Due to the areas tranquil weather conditions we have the opportunity to dive in Ag. Nikolas reef often. Even though it is very close to the coast it has surprisingly rich marine life: Octopuses, groupers, eels, shool of fish, and occasionally sting rays.

Of course you will not miss the beautiful cave (small but colorful) with various types of sponges.

Cave Diving

An ancient cavern was discovered at Padieronissi islet between Paros and Antiparos 10 years ago. Explorers can enter the cave from three different points. The first and largest cave’s entrance is on a depth between 3.5 m. to 11 m. with diameter about 10 m. Second entrance is the medium one with 8 m depth and diameter 2.5 m. The smallest entrance is a tunnel with an opening on 16 m depth and after 15m penetration close on 8m.depth.

The light that enters the cave creates incredible scenery. Soft and hard corals in all kind of shapes and forms are everywhere. When you get on the surface you discover the best part of the cave. Big stalactites with different shapes makes you believe that you are just landed on a different planet.

A “relaxing” dive as the max. depth is 11m. The diving spot is a beautiful bay protected from the weather, on Iraklia Island. A dive in the history of the World War I gives you the opportunity to explore a German Arado which was shot down after dense enemy fires. The airplane was caught by fishermen nets near Santorini island on 250m and was brought on its current position.

The Island

The threads which link mythology to the island of Naxos are many. Zeus (the father of the gods), Semele, Dionysus, Ariadne, Demeter, Persephone, Iphimedeia, Pancratis, the giants Otus and Ephialtes are but a few of the names that figure in the action-packed legends surrounding the island. The people of Naxos worshipped Zeus the Melosios, protector of the flocks, and a temple was erected by the faithful in his honor on Mount Zas, which took its name from Zeus. The inscription "Mountain of Zeus the Melosios" can be seen carved on a rock there.
According to legend, the father of the gods was born in Crete but grew up on the island of Naxos, from where he set out to gain his Olympian throne.
