Aqua Divers Club in Greece, a PADI 5* Instructor Development Dive Resort caters for both novice and certified scuba divers.


Aqua Divers Club offers you the possibility of more than 25 different scuba diving sites from the boat or the shore depending on prevailing weather conditions. Five minutes from the dive shop is the island of Arsida with more than 15 diving spots for all levels of certified divers.

Types of Dives: Wall, reef, wreck, drift, cave and night dives and the famous car cemetery. Each of the 25 different dive sites is unique in terms of underwater topography, flora,fauna and has been carefully selected in order to make the dive as enjoyable as possible in the safest conditions. Weather conditions permitting, there is the possibility to dive on 3 different wrecks over a two day period. All dive sites are a short distance by either boat or jeep from the diving centre, Weather conditions permitting, there is the possibility to dive on 3 different wrecks over a two day period. Nitrox available for certified nitrox divers. Visibility is generally good throughout the year ranging from 10 – 30 metres for shore dives and up to 40 metres on boat dives. Water temperature reaches 26–28 degrees Celsius in July/August and 12 – 13 degrees Celsius in March/April (the coldest months).

So diving is possible throughout the year and the appropriate wet suit is available depending on the water temperature. Currents tend to be non existant or very mild.
 


PADI Courses

- All PADI courses are offered in the following languages: English, French, German and Greek.

- Course instructors are multilingual and all the course material is in the appropriate language.

- PADI Courses are either private lessons or groups up to a maximum of five students, at times that will fit into your schedule.

- All PADI scuba diving courses offered, Bubblemaker through to Instructor rating, follow PADI standards and lead to certification.

- Scuba instruction for beginners takes place in the security of the sheltered bay where Aqua Divers Club is located. The sea bed has a sandy bottom gently sloping down to a depth of 8 metres so an ideal area for training purposes, particularly novices. The bay alos has its own house reef, where over 30 different species have been spotted amongst its interesting rock formations.

- Special tailor made scuba diving programmes are available for children 10 + years and can lead to PADI JUNIOR OPEN WATER DIVER certification.
 



Dive Sites

DIVE 1*: Shore Dive: CALYPSO HOUSE REEF.

Maximum depth 12 metres.

Recommended certification level: Beginner +

The dive plan follows the coastline, with many small caves and rocky outcroppings. A small sunken rowing boat lying at 10 metres is home to a moray eel. Large schools of damsel fish, gold line and cardinal fish can be seen. During night dives, octopi, squid, cuttlefish, conger eels and whitebait abound in the bay.
 


DIVE 2*. Boat Dive: AKIS GARDENS.

Maximum depth 15 metres.

Recommended certification level: Beginner +

Collection of small reefs in a secluded bay, with many wrasses, combers, bream, gold line, mullet, blennies, scorpion fish and the occasional octopi or moray.. A nice long gentle swim around an underwater garden.
 


DIVE 3**. Boat Dive: GROUPER COLONY.

Maximum depth 30 metres.

Recommended certification level: Advanced +

The dive follows the coast line with spectacular views of large groupers swimming amongst the rocks, which are also home to octopi and morays.


DIVE 4** Boat Dive. PINNA REEF.

Maximum depth 30 metres.

Recommended certification level: Open Water +

Forest of large fan mussels scattered along the seabed amongst the Neptune grass and in between various rock formations. Full selection of Mediterranean underwater flora and fauna to be seen and if very lucky the local seal.
 


DIVE 5*** Boat Dive. BLUE CANYON.

Maximum depth 40 metres

Recommended certification level: Advanced +

Prior to entering the canyon, there is a wall dive of approx 150 metres in length, with the wall plunging to the seabed at 45 metres.

The entrance to the canyon is at 15 metres and the canyon floor gradually rises to a depth of 8 metres. Small cave to be visited at 9 metres, home to large anemones and cardinal fish. The walls and canyon floor are covered with brightly covered blue and red hard corals. Inside the canyon and on the walls, morays, octopi and lobsters can be found. At the entrance to the canyon, large schools of parrot and damsel fish, gold line, sardines, wrasses and the occasional grouper. The view from inside the canyon towards the open sea is quite breathtaking.
 


DIVE 6**. Boat Dive. THE ANCHOR.

Maximum depth 35 metres

Recommended certification level: Advanced +

Long wall dive following the slope of the island to a maximum depth of 35 metres, with many outcroppings and swim throughs, to arrive at an anchor approx 2 metres in height from a merchant vessel that sunk off the island approx 30 years ago and is all that remains of the wreck. . Large schools of sardines, bream, mullet, damsel fish and a fine collection of peacock worms, star fish, sea squirts and sponges can be found on the outcroppings.
 


DIVE 7***. Boat Dive. SEAL WALL.

Maximum depth 40 metres.

Recommended level Advanced +

The wall itself plunges down to 50 metres. At 28 metres, there is a small cave full of brightly coloured hard coral. This site is called SEAL WALL, as occasionally the local seal can be spotted.
 


DIVE 8* Boat Dive. MEADOWLANDS/MORAY REEF.

Maximum depth 20 metres

Recommended certification level: Open Water

This dive follows the island coastline and commences with a small reef at 10 metres, followed by a large expanse of Posidonos grass and finally a wall, with many large sponges. Amongst the large boulders and rocks on the seabed, morays, octopi, groupers and corbs can be seen.
 


DIVE 9** Boat Dive: THE COVE.

Maximum depth 30 metres

Certification level: Advanced +

A small cove on the west coast of the island is where the boat anchors. Divers then have a choice, on exiting the cove, to either turn left or right, for 2 spectacular wall dives. If conditions permit this is an excellent spot for drift dives, covering a distance of 500-750 metres underwater
 


DIVE 10* Boat Dive or Shore Dive: DIKIGORIKA.


Maximum depth 15 metres.

Recommended certification level: Open Water Diver

Two reefs situated 80 metres from the coast, in a well sheltered bay. Lots of gulleys and passageways through the reefs, which are home to large schools of combers, wrasses, damsel and cardinal fish, On the sandy seabed, flounders and weaver fish can be seen,
 


DIVE 11** Boat Dive: DIGIKORIKA CARS.

Maximum depth 22 metres.

Recommended certification level: Open Water Diver +

Wall dive with wrecks of cars on the seabed. Groupers, morays, sponges, worms, wrasses and cardinal fish are found in this area.
 


DIVE 12*** Boat or Shore Dive: CAR WRECKS.

Maximum depth 40 metres

Recommended certification level: Advanced +

Most probably the only underwater car graveyard in Europe. Can be visited either as a wall or drift dive, depending on prevailing currents. Collection of cars, trailers that have been driven over the edge of the cliff , most probably for reasons of theft, fraud or insurance. The vehicles lie at depths ranging from 8 – 30 metres and have become permanent homes to a wide variety of underwater Mediterranean sea life: scorpion fish, groupers, morays, octopi. Shoals of wrasses, mullet and bream can also be found. Experience the sensation of sitting in a car’s driving seat 20 metres underwater.
 


DIVE 13**. Boat or Shore Dive: CAR WRECK WALL.

Maximum depth 30 metres.

Recommended certification level: Open Water +

The wall itself drops to 45 metres. Many peacock worms, groupers, shoals of bream and large sponges can be seen during the dive, plus octopi and lobsters in holes on the wall. Many broken pieces of pottery can be noticed embedded in the rocks.
 


DIVE 14** Boat or Shore Dive: FISH FARM WALL.

Maximum depth 30 metres.

Recommended certification level: Advanced

Similar in topography flora and fauna to CAR WRECK WALL.
 


DIVE 15*** Boat Dive: PATROKLOS WALL.

Maximum Depth: 30 metres.

Recommended level: Advanced +

Long drift dive along the south eastwall of the island, with a number of small caves. Many large schools of mackerel, picarel, yellowtail, bream can be seen and the occasional lesser slipper lobster clinging to the wall of the island.
 


DIVE 16*** Boat Dive:: SS ELENI.

Maximum depth 29 metres

Recommended level: Advanced +

A two hold bulk carrier that sank off a nearby island approx 20 years ago.

The stern lies at a depth of 18 metres and the bow at 29 metres. Most of the superstructure has been destroyed by severe storms, so penetration possibilities are limited, The hull rests on a sandy seabed, where rays, weaver fish, flounders and stripped mullet can be found. Groupers, morays , corbs shelter inside the wreck. One of the few diveable wrecks in the Attiki region.
 


DIVE 17** Boat Dive: FRENCH GARDEN.

Maximum depth 25 metres.

Recommended level: Open Water +

A swim through a field of Neptune grass with a large colony of fan mussels, is followed by a wall dive on which lobsters, morays and octopi have been seen. Small holes in the face of the wall are habitats for a large number of Mediterranean reef fish.
 


DIVE 18** Boat Dive: SS Oria

Maximum depth 30 metres

Recommended level: Open Water +

Gently sloping wall dive, leading to a sandy sea bed at 30 metres.

Remnants of a wreck from WWII can be seen amongst the rocks. The wreck was an Italian troop carrier that was sunk with the loss of over 2000 lives. The actual wreck itself was raised by the Greek Government, but pieces of machinery and superstructure can still be found amongst the rocks. Very large moray eels and groupers have been noticed hiding in the rocks near the sandy seabed.
 


DIVE19* Boat Dive: MICKEY’S GARDEN.

Maximum depth 15 metres.

Recommended level: Open Water Diver

Collection of small reefs and gulleys inhabited by morays, scorpion and cardinal fish. Shoals of bream, gold line and mullet can be seen during the dive.


DIVE 20: Boat dive George's Arch.

Maximum depth 30 metres

Recommended level: Open Water Diver

The site is located in a small bay on the south east coast of Patroklos island. The bay slopes gently down to a depth of 30 metres and has large beds of Posidonos grass. On the right hand side, following the shoreline of the island, there is a pleasant wall dive. Half way through the dive there is a large underwater arch at 12 metres depth, which is quite spectacular. Due to the proximity of this site to the nearby fish farm, the bay is full of sea life: Seabass, octopus, damsel fish, moray eels, and if very lucky a ray can be seen scuttling across the sandy seabed.
 


APOLLONIA II: Wreck Dive

Maximum Depth 24 metres
Recommended level: Open Water.

SS Apollonia, a general cargo boat built in 1955, struck Trypiti Reef during the early hours of the morning of June 11th 1980. The boat was in its second day of her journey from Halkida to Tripoli in Libya carrying different types of cargo, including steel pipes which can be seen on the reef. Visibility was bad and the boat hit the reef head on and sank. The bow and stern sections are found in quite shallow waters and the reef is covered with debris from the rest of the wreck.
 


DIVE 20: Boat dive George's Arch.

Maximum depth 30 metres

Recommended level: Open Water Diver

The site is located in a small bay on the south east coast of Patroklos island. The bay slopes gently down to a depth of 30 metres and has large beds of Posidonos grass. On the right hand side, following the shoreline of the island, there is a pleasant wall dive. Dive 22 Portugal

SS PORTUGAL: WRECK DIVE

Maximum depth 40 metres

Recommended level Advanced +

The SS PORTUGAL was another general merchandise steam ship, which sank during bad weather on Trypiti Reef during the 1980’s.

The boat was travelling at full steam and due to the force when it hit the south western part of the reef, it broke into two pieces, one of which is lying at a depth of 40 metres. The remainder of the vessel is spead out over depths ranging from 26 to 40 metres. Due to the depths involved, this is only a dive for Advanced plus divers.
 


Dive 23 No Name Island 1

No Name Island 1: Boat Dive:
Maximum depth 12 metres.

Recommended level: Open Water Diver.

The site consists of a small outcropping of rock approximately 100 metres from the shore, It is possible dive the whole island in one go, due to the relatively shallow depths. There are numerous holes/small gulleys to explore and the area abounds with various varieties of sea life: bream, octopus, damsel fish, yellow tails. At approximately 5 metres depth, there is an opening in the rock, like a window, through which one can swim.
 


Dive 25 Conger Reef
CONGER REEF: Boat Dive

Maximum depth 20 metres

Recommended level: Open Water.

Large rock situated approx 1 kilometre from the mainland. The area around the rock itself is quite uninteresting, very little sealife and shallow. To the south of the rock is a long reef stretching approx 300 metres towards the open sea. A favourite spot for local fishermen. Depth ranges from 5 metres to 20 and many small holes, caves can be found in the reef. A large selection of Mediterranean flora and fauna to be observed during the dive.
