“We are not born alone, nor do we grow up this way. The institution of family exists, but we have forgotten it.” This is how Athens-based multimedia street artist Zamie views the status quo of the family, images of which he conveys through his first solo exhibition, the intensely-hued Family Show, which opened recently at the neoclassical Vougas mansion in the inner city Athens district of Zografou. “As in life itself, there are happy and difficult moments in the ‘family show’, even moments without any particular meaning, which help us to merely unload our thoughts and move on,” says the young artist. The show, presented by street art laboratory Stigma Lab and Zografou municipality, is on at the Vougas mansion (17 Georgiou Zografou St, Zografou) until January 11. Open noon to 8pm daily.
